Balckwell 2011

dscf0194 Blackwell Adventure Campsite near Bromsgrove – Balckwell is big site and has losts of activites.

Our week long summer camp in July 2011 took place at Blackwell Adventure. We had perfect sunshine all week. The scouts took part in a range of activities some which were organised by the site like archery and the zip wire. There was also a swimming pool which was great for cooling off in the hot weather. This was then followed by our water slide which was great fun and great to watch everyone going down.

We spent a day off site on a walk which the scouts led. We did get lost a few times but eventually made it back to the campsite.

While on camp the scouts work towards badges, one of them being the camp cook. This involved the scouts creating their own fire to cook off and preparing and cooking their own food. The menu consisted of mince packets which contained mince obviously, vegetables and gravy all sealed in tin foil. For pudding we had chocolate oranges or bananas. They also did their entertainment badge round the camp fire, with songs and sketches. We were joined by some Guides from Wales who taught us a song and we taught them one in return.

As well as learning how to build and light fires, we also created a gateway into our campsite, using our knot skills and brute strength to get it up in place.

By the end of the week everyone was very tired but had had a great time.
